It's grim up North........

......and not what you would call a 'good drying day', featuring the sort of rain that penetrates direct to the scalp with every icy drop......but luckily I have giant crumpets and plenty of butter.....

Good day for a bit of street history though........

EDIT : Speaking of street/back lane history there's a bit of physical evidence bottom right.....this part of Whitley Bay was built (following the opening of the local suburban railway loop linking the coast with Newcastle upon Tyne) around about the 1880's, houses went up in their hundreds before the local mains drainage/sewerage system caught up with the building boom. That there is probably Mrs Nextdoor's bricked up 'night soil' hatch........
