A perfect day?

So, train tracks for a second day running! This was a very different train journey to yesterday's. Little G had been invited to a friend's birthday party being held on a local miniature steam railway. So we had a lovely morning of mummy and son time, while daddy stayed at home with Littler G and did painting and other fun stuff with her. Everybody had a great time. Little G was very envious that the birthday boy got a ride in the driver's cab when the engine changed ends at the halfway point of the journey - he even got to pull the chord to make the whistle sound. It doesn't get much cooler than that when you're 4!

So, having had a nice night last night being Me, I had a lovely morning this morning being Mummy. And now I'm spending a happy afternoon in my kitchen steaming Christmas puddings, making chutney and - hopefully - concocting something for dinner this evening (the Christmas cake will, I think, have to wait for another day...). I'm honestly not sure weekends get much better than this.
