So exciting

Exciting isn't a big enough word for me at the moment. 

This is a male Superb Fairy-wren, in our own back garden; the first time I have ever seen one here in more than 27 years.

I was sitting on the back step with George, and there was this high pitched tweetering, and he (the bird, not George) flew in.  Sat on the branch for a scritch and a scratch, and took off again.  Naturally enough my lens wasn't anywhere near long enough, but golly gosh you can't plan for these occasions, can you!

A cartwheel moment if ever there was one.
