Ringnecked duck
This handsome chap is not a tuftie, but a ringnecked duck, an American/ East Siberian species (possibly a vagrant, possibly an escapee from a wildfowl collection)
He is amazingly confiding, hanging out with the tufties at Blackford Pond in Edinburgh, gratefully accepting bread from passers-by.
No sign of a ring at his neck, though!
I also heard and saw and photographed my first chiff-chaffs of the year :)
