Rural pursuits

It didn't rain today. It was cold, and there was that horrid east wind still, but we found that Ardentinny, and in particular Glenfinart Bay, was sheltered from said wind. That's where this photo was taken, in the birch woods above the beach. The distant figures are my two granddaughters with their grandfather, talking non-stop as they toil up the hill to where their mother and I were waiting. (We'd been climbing quickly to warm up after standing watching the girls clamber precariously down to a hidden beach. They made it without coming a cropper ...)

A good walk, then, resulting in general good humour. The sudden removal of 10-year-old Catriona's very loose pre-molar at the beginning of dinner completed the satisfaction - her mother said she was going to straighten it so that Cat could eat, but somehow it just slipped into her hand... However it happened, this is the third time we've had the tooth trauma on visits here, and the Dunoon tooth fairy is feeling the pinch.

She's also very tired. Mindless television beckons ...
