Anniversary walk

We celebrated our wedding anniversary today (37th). It was a nice sunny day so, after a roast chicken lunch we went for a walk. This photo was taken by our son, who then walked on home while we went to a local cafe and had tea and enormous slices of a most delicious lemon and blueberry cake. We came home the long way round to walk some of the cake off!

After we got back we watched the film called, "The Shack". I had read the book some years ago, and could remember parts of it, but they did very slightly alter some bits. I thought it was very good indeed (even though we didn't appreciate the amount of whispery mumbling in it which seems to be a feature of films today). I have to admit to being reduced to a huge amount of tears at one point, but even my husband cried a bit too. It is a very emotional story.

We had a late tea, including some trifle as an extra treat.
