Back Down To Earth
It was inevitable. There is always a price to pay. Today was heavy as yesterday was light. I was brought right back down to earth.
It rained all night and right through the morning. The moor is left with no capacity to absorb more water so it runs straight off. Lots of new watercourses are being created in the process. I don't think I've ever seen it this wet before. At least the rain relented later to leave an atmospheric fog behind. That's always good for photography, even if it's no good for anything else.
The local cricket season should have been underway this weekend. They've wisely postponed it a week to tack the first round of fixtures on at the other end of the season. That was a wise decision.
