Porto Moniz

Mixed weather across the island. We went up to Encumeada viewpoint but we were in cloud so couldn't see the viewpoint let alone the view! 

By mistake headed back to Sao Vincente so then took the coast road to Porto Miniz where we spent quite a bit of time watching the waves crash against the rocks. In the foreground you can see the natural rock pools which are used as swimming pools, but it wasn't open today.

We headed out up the hill to travel along the top. About 20km along we found the road was blocked off for workmen. No diversion signs in place and not many other roads down. We took the first we could, a long winding road down which the sat nav didn't know about.

Considering the weather to start with we did well having sun most of the day.
