Perfect Pairings

Whoever invented tea and cake was, in my humble opinion, a genius. Much like the genius who discovered the life changing pairing of cheese with wine... I wonder if they were related?  

My favorite coffee shop is currently promoting the pairing of sparkling wine and lemon cake... sounds pretty good to me.
