The Quality of Fog
There are as many kinds of fog as there rain and snow. If everyone was a photographer, we would likely have as rich a vocabulary to describe them as we do the falling and frozen types of water in the air. As it is, once you get beyond the territory of mist - not counting the artificial states of haze and smog - there is only fog and thick fog and dense fog. We need more words.
I would classify today's as getting close to a thick fog. It made for some interesting photography - without ever threatening to offer the ecstatic excitement of a properly dense fog. I returned home damp and cold, but happy enough. It's been a while since I had so much fun processing a set of pictures.
