Tulips and Alexa

I have a confession to make: I own two Alexas- one for upstairs and one for downstairs.
 
All I have to do is to shout to my virtual assistant ….yes it does annoy M except now he too has joined the ranks of folk who prefer to use voice commands rather than fiddle with a computer or buttons on a remote.
 
 He just shouts to Netflix.
 
Today I learnt something creepy. Amazon have submitted a patent for Alexa which would allow it to listen to all our conversations and come back immediately with suggestions. For example if it hears we are looking for a cheap flight to Spain or a nearby Italian restaurant.
 
After the Facebook revelations …well this is spooky.
