Almost 100% recyclable....

One of the customers I went to today, installs an average of 50 appliances a day. They always haul away the old stuff and every morning it ends up here. Then, one by one they go through them. Sometimes they are new enough or just need a simple repair and they are resold "as-is" Everything but the refrigerators are 99% recyclable. (seals, elements and a few plastic parts end up in the landfill)

It's complicated if it is a refrigerator or freezer...  R-12 was banned over 20 years ago but it still shows up now and then. Those have to be handled with very special tools and all refrigerant MUST be 100% recycled. Today R409, R410 and R134 is common but even those are being phased out due to harming the environment...

Going to be a wonderful day tomorrow. A awesome family friend is turning 50. She was my sisters friend first but over the years.. I had the pleasure to take apart some old floor lights and rewire them for her. One took awhile to find parts for as it had a 300 watt clear globe light bulb that was really beautiful..  A 300 mile overnight round trip but I'll be home to see my dad on Sunday...

Cold hard rain in Seattle with snow in the hills... jays, flickers, bush tits, nuthatches, sparrows (a variety), juncos, chickadees and.. all gathered around the bird feeder tonight..
