Tulipa turkestanica

Got into the garden this morning at last. Actually when you stop to look things are growing. I think the plants are 3-4 weeks behind where I’d expect them to be and I suspect I’ve lost a few. The hardy specimens are putting on some growth. There are still plenty of spring bulbs to flower but these little tulipa turkestanica had opened in the intermittent sunshine. I don’t remember planting them but I must have done sometime. They’ve been pretty reliable for years. It’s definitely warmer today. There are midges on the wing. Good for the birds.

Off to Edinburgh later and staying in town with friends so not much time for blip. Will catch up tomorrow.
