Fontainebleau

A colleague mentioned this place to me years ago and we finally made it. It’s about an hour south of Paris and a mecca for climbers. I always wanted to bring the kids here, especially Olivia as she loves climbing. We didn’t do any of the hardcore bouldering, instead we opted for a walk in the vast forest scrambling as we went. The kids loved it and Olivia really was in one of her happy places.

This morning the intention had been for me to do a parkrun but it was cancelled. I was really disappointed but as I’m loaded with cold it was probably a blessing.

Late evening we explored the grounds of the chateau which were beautiful. We can’t believe we haven’t heard more about this place as it’s fantastic!
