Auch Glen viaduct - West Highland line.
Today the long plod up the Auch Glen track to Beinn Mhanach (953m). First under the viaduct - not one of the finer looking ones, but quite interesting I thought as a panorama.
Over 8km you gain about 100m and then there is the climb at the end. Above 500m we had a total whiteout - white snow with white cloud, so it was navigation on instruments to the top. Surprisingly the very top and the cairn were dry, snow free and windless, so we had a leisurely tea and sandwiches and then a nice easy snow descent half way back down again.
The walk out on the track took 5 minutes less than the walk in.
