50 years on!

I went to Edinburgh this weekend for a reunion with my primary school class!

A handful of folk had reconnected via Friends Reunited a few years ago and have been meeting for lunch once a year since then. Last year they decided that since 2012 would mark 50 years since we all left primary school to head for "the big school" they were going to try and trace the rest of us and organise a 50th reunion. Well, they succeeded in tracing everyone, although sadly three of our number had died. Of the 40 plus people (big classes in those days!) 24 of us made it to Edinburgh for the reunion lunch, including one lady who planned her trip from Australia round the date!

I think we were all a bit apprehensive about the prospect of spending an afternoon with people we hadn't seen for 50 years but we needn't have worried. We had a great afternoon, with a lovely lunch, much laughter, much reminiscing and much catching up.

There are plans to repeat the occasion in three years time when we all hit 65!
