Yoga for coots

So nice to have some sunshine and warmth this morning. Took myself along to the pond on the South Inch to see if their were any young hatched yet, there weren't but a couple of coots are nesting and a swan (see extra). I fear for the swan as her nest is in a very accessible place and an easy target for any kids wishing to cause mischief. Pretty amazed by this coots foot - huge!
later I went a walk along the river to the Willowgate tearoom. Lots of signs of new life - wood anemones blooming and a couple of butterflies: small tortoiseshell (see extra) and a peacock. Could this be Spring at last?
