Japanese Andromeda, Pieris

This is a pretty time of year for my Andromeda bush; the new growth is a pretty red. However, when I looked at my photo of the bush I noticed that the older leaves are dotted with red; I wonder if that is pigment left from the new growth red. I have never noticed that happening before. Of course, I cannot say for sure that it hasn't always been there; I just have never noticed it.   :-))    Isn't that the way life is: never really seeing until we take the time to STOP and see.......really see clearly?
