Serious Scrutiny

Cynthia studies the descriptions of the beers we chose for evaluation at Upright Brewing in Portland.

It was a very unusual location for a brewery — deep in the basement of a building which used to be a bank. As we walked down several flights of narrow concrete steps I began to wonder if we would encounter a door with a small inspection window, and be asked for a password. Nobody is going to accidentally stumble upon this place! Super beer/food-sleuth C unearthed it — so to speak.

The beer was also unusual, but excellent!
