Pride

A welcome day off in Mumbai - Easter Friday so the office is shut. Triggerhappyfi has hit town, visiting for the weekend from Chennai. We're having a blip-viewing-totals-and-comments competition to see who gets the most!

Off we went to Elephanta Island, an hours boat ride from the Gateway to India. Tourist trap nirvana. Sailed through Mumbai harbour, past huge container ships and naval warships. Boiling hot. A trek up a hill once arrived, past hawkers selling an array of tat. Eventually made it to the caves which were the whole point of going, but so hot by then we'd past caring! Back to the boat then, past all the hawkers again, who attempted to sell us their wares.... again....

This chap stood majestically at the helm of his ship on the way back into Mumbai. The famous Taj Mahal Hotel is in the background. There is something about his composure and stature that suggested he was proud of his boat. He smiled in acknowledgment as we sailed past.
