Robot

Inevitably the robots rose up and defeated Mankind. The victorious machines created further robots and, in time, this new generation of robots rose up and overthrew the original robots. The new robots turned their attention to the tattered remnants of Mankind and enslaved them, creating an underclass of humans to plot against their robotic overlords and, after a bloody and oily conflict, to overcome them.

And so it went on.
