Tur-i Sina Monastery

This Church is just 500 meters away from my home. Has many names. Prodromos Baptistist Knigon, Tur-i Sina Monastery, Church of Nikolau. The history of Tur-i Sina Church (Balatkapı Ioannes Prodromos Metokhion Church) goes back to the first half of the fourteenth century and it is one of the Eastern Orthodox Churches in İstanbul. The church is subject to Sina Archbishopric and Saint Catherine Monastery in Egypt. It was dated back to 1334. It is just a building by the road for many people going to work in Istanbul. It is just next to a busy road. I do wonder how many habitants of Istanbul have no idea although they pass in front of it every day.
