Tidal Reaches

I have still to catch the mainstay of the wildlife which abounds the Lower Test Wildlife Reserve at the head of Southampton Water.
The river which rises 40 miles away in the north of Hampshire flows through this largely marsh and wet lands before joining Southampton Water and the sea.  But it is a tidal area and though there are a number of established footpaths, some of the reserve on the estuary is not accessible during high tide.
But a unique mixture of freshwater and seawater provide home for both a wide range of birds as well as flowering plants.
This time I was lucky enough to catch these three ducks on the water, but I am still looking out for the kingfishers and wildfowl which are said to inhabit the area. I have seen swans, little egret, grey heron nearby, but I guess I must have more patience to capture more on camera.
