All systems go.....

Mainly dry, some sun and showers with a blustery wind. Must be April !
The lorry in this morning to collect the 26 heifers we have sold. They are off to Scarborough,North Yorkshire.
Once they were away ,I managed to grab the calf that was born this morning and chucked it over the petrol tank of the quad bike. Managed to get mum to follow us in to the steading by making my usual calf noises. Made up some artificial colostrum and stomach tubed it as it refused to suck. Tonight I managed to milk some out the cow for it ,but it had to be tubed again. Hopefully it will get the notion soon.
The contractor made a start sowing spring barley down the road.When I looked in tonight,he was onto the second field. Fingers crossed it stays dry over night and we get some more done tomorrow, as time is marching on. Must be having fun,as time seems to be flying !!
