DOWN AND DIRTY....

.... found this Black Fronted Dotterel pecking it's way through the mud of the dam, and interested to see the mud was only on the first bit of it's beak.
These birds are quite small in size as detailed here in Birds in Backyards

It was another dull and quite short on light when I went to check out this dam mid afternoon.
