Abundance

Another glorious day. There are carpets of wild allium everywhere, along with a few irises and the first poppies. A couple of alternatives in extras. It was another lovely day; we went to the market for the first time in over a month and sat outside for a coffee and chats with passing friends.

In other news I'm struggling through Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury for my English book group on Sunday. I had to consult Wikipedia to figure out what was going on in part 1, and part 2 is not much easier ... I would really like some lighter reading. S has used his time more usefully; so far this week he's completed our tax return, fitted a new cat flap, fixed the malfunctioning dishwasher, planted the tubs in front of the house, and done some gardening.
