Friends

When you wake up at your friend's house, after arriving unexpectedly the evening before, and the first thing you see are Happy Birthday banners around the room, you know you have a real friend!  

The thing was that I had lost track of the date, so it came as a bit of a surprise!  That's one of the many wonderful things about being on holiday in a campervan - no internet, no emails, patchy phone coverage, you just eat and sleep when the mood takes you, no clock watching or deadlines.  Perfect!  And although we don't try deliberately to avoid the news, the van's radio struggles getting radio 3 or 4, so we missed that too, the recipe for a stress free holiday!

Shelagh and I took the dogs for an early morning walk along the shore then we had a leisurely breakfast before going out for coffee and birthday cake!  What a life!  The perfect end to our trip away, as we drove up to Aberdeen for the ferry home.
