Building round the hill
I was in Dunoon for most of the day and at one stage found myself walking round the Castle Hill to get from one appointment to another.
I was struck by the amount of construction going on. The old MacColl’s Hotel site which has been a pile of rubble for far too long is now being tidied up and (I presume) prepared for construction. The new Queen’s Hall is rapidly taking shape and the refurbishment of Dunoon Primary School continues apace.
These three projects also illustrate the role of different players - the private sector, the Council and the Scottish Government.
I could have added in the on going project to restore the listed Victorian pier , but that appears to have stalled for now with only half the job done.
