A Bloody Good Day!
Goodness me, I’ve had a busy old day, but a lovely one. First thing I rode to the Marriott for a swim and there were only two of us in the water for most of the time. The sun was out by the time I arrived home so I sat outside and read in the sunshine for a bit. I supped a couple of pints of water as I read in preparation for giving blood.
My year ban, due to very low iron, came to an end two days ago. The team were at the Novotel so I booked to go along today. I held my breath as the blood dropped into the copper sulphate.... it sank !! Hurrah. It took five minutes twenty today, I’ve done it faster, but I was just relieved I could give. It was lovely to see the team...and I’m back with them next week!
I had an early birthday present tonight as Ellen had bought tickets to see Mary Stuart at the Lowry. Juliet Stevenson and Lia Williams play the two Queens and the show starts with the toss of a coin to determine which role they play. Lia Williams was Mary Stuart tonight. Oh, it was brilliant, I absolutely loved it.
Before we saw the play we had a meal in The Alchemist....oh, and a cheeky little cocktail too.
What a great day. I’m up early and back to the Quays for a swim tomorrow as the season starts. I hope it is sunny in the morning. I had mentioned it to the girl who cut my hair yesterday and she said it could rain on Saturday and ‘would I still swim even if it was raining?’ Err... I’ll be wet anyway! ‘Oh yes I didn’t think of that!’
