A day spent pounding the steeets of Manhattan - a good place for people watching

Visited the Public Library - grand architecture featuring the white marbled Astor Hall - the DeWitt Wallace Periodical Hall with panelled walls - murals and chandeliers and the McGraw Rotunda with soaring arches and fresco painted ceiling

Also saw Bryant Park - a green space surrounded by skyscrapers- 5th Avenue - Times Square - where the Statue Of Liberty was to be found catching up on the emails - The Rockefeller Centre - then St Patrick’s Cathedral where we listened to a recital given by the University choir - quite moving and very atmospheric - extra
