Magnolia

We were lucky to inherit a huge ancient Magnolia when we moved to this house. I thought we were on course for one of the later flowerings but after the week’s heatwave it has gone from nowhere to full bloom in its usual spectacular fashion. I am never happy that pictures do it justice so I tried a closeup instead.
