Diary of an Edinburgher

Bologna Day One

A late start to the day, but we're well rested. The flat is very quiet, and only a few minutes walk to the cafes, shops and parks. Not to mention churches and museums. Everything is ancient. But so well conserved. The pavements are small tiles or worn smooth huge slabs of marble. There is no litter, which is a joy to behold.

We walked round the corner and came to a wee cafe, where we got a good coffee ('flat white' is not a concept here) and a croissant. I think that might be our regular breakfast stop.

A lunch in the company of a couple of Dutch chaps, with a lovely cheese platter. They do eat a LOT of processed meat...

Back home for a snooze, then out for a meal. We had the best background music - laid back jazz, no screeching trumpets, and no vocals. Perfect.

Back home. Tired. What a grand day - yesterday's trauma is forgotten.

That's the end of our street that JR is walking along. And yes, that tower IS famously eaning.

PS We've had updates from Archie, who is fine. This is a very doggy city, there are lots of them. We saw a chihuahua dressed in a tutu. Yes!
