Checking the bees....
..is just one of many small jobs we got done today.
I woke early. It was a bit overcast and didn't brighten until later, but we still enjoyed a relaxed breakfast in the conservatory. Then Jon took Bracken to Pretty Corner for a long walk in the woods, and I cycled up to the allotment to plant my strawberry plants. It only took 15 minutes.
We all drove over to Holt for our coffee today. we went in the Owl cafe after passing several others. It was very good. We trawled all the charity shops for Terminator on DVD, but no luck. We keep finding Terminator 3 or 4 but not 1 or 2. I'll keep searching.
We had lunch in the garden. some nice crisp fresh rolls from Budgen, and brie which was warm and runny. The sun had at last emerged!
Next more jobs. We took the trailer tent over to the Scout hut and left it there. We dont have room at home. From there we went to Karen's allotment in East Runton, which is where Jon keeps his bees. I took this through the paint splattered window of Karen's shed. I don't have a white outfit like them, so needed to be out of the way. The good news is that they are alive and the queen has been laying eggs. There is enough honey for us to take some off, so we just need to source the equipment to do it.
From there we collected our caravan and brought it home for me to clean tomorrow. It fits on the drive without a problem and we can still squeeze both cars and two other trailers on.
A cup of tea, while I threw chicken curry ingredients into the slow cooker, then a late drive into Cromer. We got a Mr Whippy ice cream and walked down the pier - it was breezy! £2 spent in the arcades (between us) then home by 6.30.
We spent the last hour of daylight on the allotment. Jon and Henry put up a fence along one side. Hopefully it will stop the rabbits.
Curry was nice, and now a film.
There are still lots of things on my list. I haven't done any cleaning! There's always tomorrow....
