Once upon a time...
we lived happily with our ancient mobile phones that Carphone Warehouse had provided, until one day our lightweight camera got run over by a naughty car in the driveway. Thinks: 'Maybe we should get one of those clever little cameras that also work as a mobile phone and the call rates are even lower (light users) than on our existing (free-to-buy) phones (on which we were pretty sure there ws no camera button)'. So we ordered a Which? best buy phone which the nice people (if there was anyone there, I am sure they would have been nice) at Carphone Warehouse OL advertised as also coming wth free swanky headphones. Phone arrived and it was only slightly boring working out how it did things (taking pictures, backing up to cloud, Whatsapp, maps, travel info, weather info etc) which we had never previously had much need of on our phones and couldn't really see why we would need them in future, despite them being apparently indispensable to people who walk slowly across pedestrian crossing, step out in front of you into the road or dawdle in front of you on the pavement, or stand in the way in superamrket aisles, or...
The nice people at Carphone Warehouse OL had forgotten to send our headphones and were not actually so nice when we reminded them and then asked again why they hadn't come and they pointed to small print to say that 'only while stocks last' and implied the stock had run out within days of the offer starting and it was irreleavnt that they were still being offered weeks after stock had expired (in the end they sent us £50 to stop asking about them - presumably so we would be appeased and not publicise their underhand practices). Aftre 6 weeks...
