Morris Dancers

They were out in force in Oxford today. This lot wore rather gothic outfits and are seen here performing a dance from Dorset where the female dancers rather aggressively hit the men's carefully positioned sticks. A group of female foreign students looked on in bemused embarrassment.

Later I joined Sandy at the theatre to see a fantastically energetic performance of The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk - recounting the relationship between expressionist artist Marc Chagall and his wife Bella. The wedding scene was a tour de force.
