Rolvenden Signalbox

Today’s blip is of Rolvenden signalbox behind a pile of junk that probably has some purpose somewhere on the railway. In the background is the Pannier Tank back on shed for disposal after working the last service of the day.

Such a difference in the weather since my previous visit some 10 days ago when, even with both gas fires on, the temperature barely reached 60f. Today it was over 80f.

A regulation day in the box, all worked and everything on time. Invited a family up into the box to see how we did things. They were very interested and delighted to be invited. Other than that, very few people around, just pelotons of cyclists wheeling over the crossing.
