Mollusc!!

Today's hike was rather easier than yesterday's - it was only 11 miles and mostly on the level. We even had time to stop for a look around at Chesters Roman Fort (the lemon cake at the tea room was delicious!). Although we didn't have yesterday's glorious weather we were lucky that there were only a few drops of rain. We're now safely ensconced in our very comfortable rooms at the Hadrian Hotel in Wall village.

We "met" today's blip at Brocolitia Roman Temple - indeed we nearly stood on him.  I liked the patterns on his shell, and as you can see he posed nicely for the camera.  As a fan many years ago of the TV programme "The Magic Roundabout" I'm calling him Brian.  :-)
