Grass

Regular readers will know by now that my mom thinks forests should, in general, be "cleaned up," and that any tree not bearing a full load of leaves should be cut down. It's hard for me, a wild-places enthusiast, to hear this over and over and over again, so I keep rethinking our destinations. Where can we go where she won't say how terrible everything looks?

The answer is GRASS. She loves large swaths of green grass, even better when it's dotted with the yellow heads of dandelions, no longer weeds but pretty flowers. So in the appreciation department, with memory loss you lose some and you win some.
