MONO MONDAY - GOLDEN ROSES

Forlorn and fading 
     golden roses
          that gave us 
               so much pleasure
                    in their short life
but now it’s time
     for their journey
          to the compost heap
               to enrich that 
and then
     give life to
          other seeds and plants
their beauty and perfume
     but a memory
          that will linger on.
