Robin Hood's Bay
SUNDAY
After breakfast in at the hotel in Malton we headed over the North York Moors to Whitby and then down to Ravencar where we took the coastal path to the National Trust old radar station and then back along the track of the old railway line, dodging the rain and stopping for lunch in the Station Square cafe.
I walked down to the Old Peak Alum Works (also NT) from where I took this shot across Robin Hood's Bay showing the huddle of red roofed former fishing cottages that spill down to the edge of the sea.
Finished the day with a drive to Scarborough - the South Bay ( best avoided) was heaving.
A warm and sunny day with just one brief shower. Llamas, geocaches, cafes and steep walks up and down the coastal path. Over 100 floors but only 14,136 steps!
