Decarded to the toy collection box
While looking under the kitchen work table for seeds to start this beautiful spring day I discovered this neglected/discarded cat toy, that is, a recently caught vole.
Vole hunting season has officially started here and that means ALL doors are closed all day until the winter snows fall.
Both cats bring in their live toys from bloodless catches. Then after getting bored with them just let them die where they lie.
This one recently died and is now buried out in our 2018 Wild Animal Plot. Something for Earth Day.
A lesson for myself: it is possible to become immune to anything including the shock of discovering vermin alive or dead in the house.
So glad to be able to welcome Spring with 65º high this afternoon.
