Caker
My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,
Years ago, I discovered that I am a "caker".
This is a disparaging term applied by Italian Canadians upon English Canadians or just English people generally. This is because (they say) the English are a nation obsessed with cake and always "mangia cake". The term implies effete refinement and a delicate sensibility.
Guilty. Now pass the effing cake.
But while we pause to consider this, and while Mel and Sue form a posse to kick Justin Trudeau's arse, let us pause to consider THESE cakes.
OooooOOOOOoooo...
I got them special from a boutique cake shop called Louis Sergeant on Featherstone Street. I thought it would be fun for our visitors. And they went down great. Both Er Indoors and Feefs insisted on taking pictures of them for Instagram* and Er Indoors said they looked like something from a Wes Anderson movie.
Which is high praise indeed.
The Little Nipper is at his granny's at the moment (that's our landlady, Miranda) so it is just the four of us in the flat. Because I have been at work, I haven't really been involved in the plans so far, but I am off work tomorrow so I expect we'll be up to family stuff.
Maybe even more cakes.
But wait... it's another late-breaking Blip news story...
AVOCADO CRIMEWAVE HITS NEW ZEALAND
Apparently a crimewave perpetrated by a gang of organised, yet elderly produce thieves is going on in Auckland. A woman looked out of her window and saw a couple of pensioners armed with a 12-foot pole, poking at her avocado tree. When she yelled at them, they dropped the pole and made good their speedy escape on MOBILITY SCOOTERS.
Anyway, the owners of the tree said the police were great. They came around right away, dropped off a victim support pack and "took fingerprints off the pole".
I love this story so much. New Zealand news is the best.

* Blip for the young people, from what I understand.
P.S. To RealHousecats - Look at the extra! Inspired by your lovely puss I gave Jasper his very own tea towel and he behaved himself impeccably while I was making dinner tonight! Thanks!
