Canada Fry

I was feeling a a bit fed-up when I went for a walk around our neighbour's lake. As I turned the corner I saw two Canada geese on the bank. Maybe my sad single goose had another mate?

I walked round and was quite shocked to see three geese. Then I spotted six gorgeous goslings which immediately lifted my mood. What clever birds the parents are. I thought they had left the area but they have been in hiding while the goose has been sitting. I felt sort of sorry and sort of happy for sad goose. It followed the new family around at a respectful distance.

As I was about to leave a mother mallard and her brood of five launched. I do hope that these vulnerable young ones escape Brock's and Reynard's attention.
