Rhus typhina laciniata.............
.........................or in other words, Stag's Horn Sumach or Vinegar Tree! Ordinarily the leaves are between 1ft and 2ft long but if the plant is cut right down in Spring, leaves up to 3ft long will be produced. The tree originates from North America and is grown for the wonderful Autumn colouring,
The only problem I have had with them in the past is that they can produce suckers that can appear some distance from the mother tree - in my case, in the lawn. Not applicable now 'cos' I don't have a lawn and this particular tree is in someone else's garden!
Weather sunny and bright but with a fair bit of cloud.
