Red pants

Today it was the flash of red pants I noticed before the sound of drumming. I still haven't seen any green woodpeckers in the village this year. Usually the green ones are much more common, and even come looking for insects on our lawn. Haven't been visited by a single one this year although I've seen them whilst out on dog walks elsewhere. I'll keep an eye out, but Mr Red Pants will have to do for today.
