Ringed Plover

The word dapper could have been coined to describe a Ringed Plover.It is amazing how a bird with a lot of prominent black and white markings, not to say orange bill and legs, can be camouflaged on a shingle beach but they just disappear into the background if you don't follow them carefully.
It is the start of the breeding season and so care needed with Ruadh - that said the one time she got close, she bought the broken wing display and was led away to safety by one of the pair.
