Sense of Occasion

We do quite a lot of pitches for our business. For example there's a very important one tomorrow, but I don't expect it will compete with the sense of occasion we experienced today.

My colleague G entered us into "Pitch at the Palace", got through the first round, and then did such a great pitch at "Boot Camp" he won one of only twelve 3-minute extended pitches at St James's Palace in London today, hosted by the Duke of York.

It's a lovely venue, and the Coldstream Guards on stage with bugles to drown out anyone who went over time added to the sense of occasion, as did the royal presence.

G did a cracking job, and we made some good connections.  I had hoped for an early night, but I'm still putting the finishing touches to something for tomorrow (with help from colleagues back in Edinburgh), so it's not going to work out that way...
