Liverwort biology

I found this wonderful Liverwort today, clearly showing the gamma cups on the leaves used in Asexual reproduction.
Whilst liverworts can reproduce sexually , they can also reproduce asexually. The thallose liverworts produce these gamma cups on the leaves. Each gamma cup gives rise to numerous gametes that are released when water droplets splash into the cup thus allowing them to be transported to favorable sites where they can grow into new plants.
