Calm before the storms
Twas a very eventful and full flight to Luxor yesterday!
Firstly, the fact that the flight was almost full is fabulous news, that people are returning after all this time. (Means I don't get my usual 3 seats to sprawl out on, so it's not all good!)
Secondly, I saw the moon rise and the sun set. We were literally flying through the middle of it. Incredible to see the moon appear as a small white spec and grow bigger and brighter as the sun faded.
Thirdly, the incredible storms that were over Europe as we flew down. I have never experienced anything like it. Clouds were aglow, as lightning, shot through and created beautiful explosions, that lit the blanket like clouds. One formation, actually was alight constantly as the lightning didn't stop, it just kept cracking away.
And last but not least, flying into Egyptian airspace. The definition between the Mediterranean sea and Egypt was breathtaking, as the full moon cast a reflection on the sea.
