Silent sigh

This is one of the small gardens at our nearest major hospital. They’re delightful places which offer staff, patients and visitors the chance to breathe fresh air and enjoy the colourful planting and artwork.
Sadly the person I came to visit is bedbound and approaching the end of a very long life, but his gratitude for my visit, appreciation of what he has, and plans for whatever time he has left, brought tears to my eyes. He loves his own little garden, and next time I visit I’ll bring him a photo of this one for him to enjoy.
